Apple Natural came to us at the start of their journey to bring their local apple product to the market. Apple Shreds are all the goodness of fresh, local apples dehydrated and made into what is traditionally known as Apple Fruit Leather and then ingeniously shredded and packaged into portions. They are perfect as a healthy snack on the go, for use in salads or as part of a cheeseboard. As ‘foodies’ ourselves, we took to the product straight away and understood its potential place in the marketplace.
Taking our inspiration from a painting the Founder’s son had created, we designed the apple tree icon first. This can be used as part of the logo alongside the Apple Natural wordmark, or own its own as the social media avatar and pin badges, stickers and more. We’ve also taken the leaves from the apple tree icon and used these to create a repeating pattern to form part of the background on the Apple Shreds packaging.
Flexibility with flavours of the Apple Shreds range was key and so the bag labels are designed to work for all the different flavours and then we’ve added a set of brightly colours circular stickers as the flavour indentifiers including ‘Hint of Seaweed’ or ‘Hint of Blackcurrant’ etc.
In addition to the brand identity and product packaging, we’ve also created some pin badges, banners and stationery items and we’ll be working with the Apple Natural team on new apple-based products over the coming year. For now, they’re busy getting stocked in lots of independent food retailers and health food stores in Cornwall, Devon and beyond.
